Halloween is a different sort
A holiday all on its own
The only day of every year
Odd creatures come out to roam
Witches and Wizards
Stirring their brew
Goblins and Gremlins
And Werewolves too
The day of the dead
And the day of the scary
Creepy and crawly
And everything hairy
While children dress up
And run door to door
Screaming “Trick-Or-Treat”
And think nothing of it more
These creatures run amuck
Not ever being seen
But the mastiff they cause
Is vivid and mean
Jack-O-Lanterns smashed
And graffiti on the walls
Toilet-papered houses
And heads ripped off dolls
But because adults don’t see them
They all seem to claim
That rebel teenagers did it
And they give them all the blame
So next time you go out
On a dark Halloween night
Be carful who you talk to
In the misty dim lit light
For the creatures of the dark
Will be out on the streets too
They will look for people to scare
And they might just find you
