My Testimony

I would like to bear my testimony
For I know this church is true
I know my Heavenly Father lives
And that he loves me too

I know we have a true Prophet
To teach us what we need to know
Just like in the times of the bible
He is here to help our spirits grow

I believe in his words
And I strive to live the right way
I have made a convent with God
To listen and obey

I know Joseph Smith was a prophet
He saw the Father and the Son
He restored Christ’s true church
And dedicated his life to teaching everyone

I thank my Heavenly Father
For a Mother who’s love is strong
For a Father who stood as an example
With them I know I belong

I thank him for my brothers
Their straight is beyond my belief
And I am blesses with a loving sister
Who helps me through all my grief

I thank him for my husband
For the love he’ll never cease to give
I am so blessed with all I have
And the peaceful life I live

I would like to bear my testimony
For I know this church is true
I know my Heavenly Father lives
And that he loves me too

She gave your love to me

My child you were adopted
You were birthed by another
I want you to know what I know
About you real birth mother

She loves you so very dearly
But could not give you what you need
She loves you so much, dear child
That she gave your love to me

She knew you would be safe
And grow up in a loving home
Learn of the true and living Gospel
And gain a testimony of your our own

Her love will never leave you
She will never forget your touch
She knew that for you we were perfect
And we would love you very much

You are the answer to our prayers
That were spoken every night
The day we brought you home
We knew everything was right

My child you are blessed
For what you may not know
Is that you hold 2 mothers hearts
For we both love you so

I am the one who holds you
But she’s the one who brought here to me
She gave everything she had
To insure you lived happily

I thank her every day
For the child I hold in my arm
I hope she knows how much I love you
And that you will see no harm

She loves you so very dearly
But could not give you what you need
She loves you so much, dear child
That she gave your love to me

Waiting

Just think positive! Never give up!
These are the things I am told
But the goal that I want is just out of reach
And it seems I will never grab hold

I can’t help but think it might never be
I can’t help but think of the worst
It seem as though my dreams won’t come true
I’ve been shielded with a horrible curse

Now I know what you are thinking
And I know what you are going to say
“Just hope for the best, trust me
I will happen to you someday”

Well someday is too long & too far away
You can’t understand unless you know
That with a thing like this, it is too hard to wait
Too hard to sit back and let it go

Never to know the next painful step
Never to see the end in sight
Never to know if the options you chose
Will turn out to be wrong or right

But yet I keep tying and going on
Knowing that this is how I must live
Waiting to the day when the doctor might say
Samantha the test show a POSITIVE

The little stuff

No more notes at the door
Wishing me a good day
No more home made puzzles
With an “I love you” on display

No more games on the phone
Of how will hang up first
No more butterflies in my stomach
Fluttering until I burst

No more walks by the moon light
Side by side and holding hands
No more learning how he thinks
And of is future plans

No foolish puppy love games
And no more corny little romance
No more giddy moments
And no more living room dances

But no more kisses at my doorstep
For now he follows me inside
No more fears of not impressing
For now there is nothing I need to hide

No more lonely nights
For now he stays the whole night through
No more hoping I won’t be hurt
For now I know he loves me too

The little stuff might change
And the puppy love might go away
But I’m married to my true love
And that makes me happy everyday

This was written to day during my 15 min brake at lunch. Hope you like it... I do!

Welcome!!!

I have not wanted to post all my Poems on my original Blog because I wanted that to be about my family not my poems and when I saw that Trina created a new Blog for her expert advice, I thought that was a great way to share my poems and not clog up my other Blog. So here it is. I hope you like it!

We’re off to Washington DC

We’re off to Washington DC in a day or so
Just my husband and I
To learn our history and all we don’t know
Just a short plane trip we’ll fly

We will see Ab Lincoln sitting upon his set
Library of Congress we can’t forget
The National Zoo they say is pretty neat
We’ll see the Giant Panda, I bet

WW2 Memorial and all of it’s glory
And the Arlington cemetery
The Holocaust Museum, such heart felt story
With all the meaning that memories carry

We will see the Capital and visit FDR
Washington Memorial and others too
Walking all day but never getting too far
Did I mention we are going to the ZOO?

Take a tour of the Ford Theater, which will be fun
To find out what happen and see the site
That very place of the assassination
What a tragic but historical night

We’ll go to the Aquarium and see all the fish
Then bask at the reflection pool
You think I could throw a penny and make a wish
With out looking like a 6 year old fool

Eating at Fogo de chao and little food carts
Spending money like no ones business
Stopping at museums to admire the arts
On some paintings I don’t get all the fuss

I can’t wait to go to Washington DC
There is so much for us to do
Is 7 days enough to see all there is to see
Did I tell you we’re going to the zoo?

So You Think You Can’t Write It

So you think you can’t write it
I bet you you’re wrong
It’s easier then you think
Just follow along

Start with a though
Then simply make it grow
Put the ink to the paper
And let the words flow

It does not have to rhyme
Or even make sense
You can also make up words
Like micro-acupiens

You can travel the world
Or create your own
Become a ferocious lion
Or a talking microphone

Just forget about perfection
Forget all your grammar school
In the world of a poet
You make all those rules

Now clear your mind
Of you boring reality
Open your imagination
Let it go and let it be

Make yourself a poet
I know that you can
Give it all you’ve got
I’m already your biggest fan

The Consultation

So you are having surgery...
It’s no big deal
Just a small little cut
And a clear liquid meal

Nothing can go wrong
Everything will be fine
But just in case
Here are some papers to sign

It’s nothing big
Just a simple formality
A real waste of paper
In all actuality

Oh you want to read them!
Well I guess that’s OK
You can just skim through it
If you need to be on your way

Well this first one allows us to drug you
You won’t feel a thing
Just a huge needle in your arm
Oh, it’s just a little sting

This one just lets you know
All the things we are going to do
Like slicing your skin like a tomato
And pushing lasers through

Now I’ve done this before
So don’t get all upset
It’s like learning to ride a bike
You never forget

So it’s been 11 years
I’m sure technology is the same
The tools might look a little different
And they might have changed the name

But again you’ll be fine
There is nothing to fear
Just sing your name there
There, there, and here

You still seem nervous
In no time it will be done
I could do this with my eyes closed
Oh, that sounds like fun!

Well I will see you tomorrow
Bright and early at eight
No, let’s make if nine
Tonight I’ll be out late

Thank You

A simple act, a loyal choice
A life dedicated to protect our home
A body so strong, A mind so firmI
pride to call our own

Thank You to your Fathers and to your Mothers
Thank You to those who raised you strong
Thank You to your family’s and to your friends
To you is where are thank you belongs

For you we fight, For you we pray
That God will watch all that you do
For your safety and for your return
Again we wish to THANK YOU!

A solder’s armor, A warrior’s soul
Because of you are country stands tall
It can not explain, It can not compare
But Thank You for giving your all

I know you all feel the same way that I do about our solders and their choice to serve and protect us all.
